Mrs. Rangana Navodini Ariyadasa is a lecturer in Classical Bharathanatyam currently attached to the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo. Being the daughter of Kalasuri & Kala Bhushana Mrs Padmini Manel Dahanayake Ariyadasa, she mastered both Sri Lankan and Indian Classical dance styles inlcuding Bharatha Natyam, Kathak, Kathakali as well as Karnatic music and the instrument Thampura. In the year 2000, she started her own academy of dancing which was registered at the Ministry of Cultural Affairs under the name "Shree Padma Ranga Nrithya Nikethan". Presently about 200 students undergo training under her and about 52 students who excelled in dancing have held their inaugural dancing performances (Arangethram).
